Roughly 100 faith and community leaders joined us in Silver Spring, MD, on May 9, 2018, to develop action plans to address some of the biggest issues facing the Maryland, D.C., and Virginia communities.
During the “Hope Has a Home” Spiritual Colloquium, we broke into groups to brainstorm how to address the issues that ranged from improving housing opportunities, supporting seniors, eliminating hunger, and promoting social justice.
Then the groups worked as a team to create SWOT analyses and detailed action plans to move beyond talk to actually bringing about change.
Our CEO Russ Snyder and United Way of Central Maryland CEO Franklyn Baker were live from the event in the Facebook live stream below:
We’re excited to see the plans that result from the inaugural event. All attendees will continue the conversation on a private Facebook page.
Our new outreach minister will take the lead on engaging this group. You can reach Angel Negron at communications@voaches.org.
We’ll keep you updated on what happens next!
