For nearly 20 years, Rev. Hafer has shared stories of triumph and compassion, using humor and personal anecdotes to shift thinking from being self-motivated to being community-minded-motivated.

The author and trained physical therapist works at a Volunteers of America-operated senior living facility in Florida. Later this year, he will hike the Appalachian Trail’s 2,200 miles from Georgia to Maine.
