Rev. Tom Hafer shared his inspirational story at our Residential Re-Entry Center in Baltimore last month.
The motivational speaker discussed his plans to hike the Appalachian Trail later while encouraging attendees to pursue a healthier lifestyle through physical and spiritual discipline.
For nearly 20 years, Rev. Hafer has shared stories of triumph and compassion, using humor and personal anecdotes to shift thinking from being self-motivated to being community-minded-motivated.
The author and trained physical therapist works at a Volunteers of America-operated senior living facility in Florida. Later this year, he will hike the Appalachian Trail’s 2,200 miles from Georgia to Maine.
