We’re officially halfway through our #5WeeksofGiving campaign!
It’s been rewarding to share stories of the employees and volunteers who have made it their lives’ work to empower the vulnerable. It is equally fulfilling to hear testimonies from the men, women, and families who are thriving through our services.
Now, let’s talk about the week ahead. Our theme for this week is Faith.
At Volunteers of America Chesapeake, we pride ourselves on being a Church Without Walls that employs faith-based principals to provide the most holistic services possible for people who need support.
Once a month, we host a church service at our headquarters in Lanham that hosts faith leaders from around the region, and with support from our Chaplain Rev. Sandra Gray, we also host meditations and spiritual sessions with staff and residents who wish to participate.
In the coming days, continue to follow this blog and our social media channels to experience the following:
- a video tour of the Volunteers of America Chesapeake’s ministry
- the story of John Katalinas, a former alcoholic who found God while receiving treatment in our facility
- several first-hand testimonies about how faith inspires the work of our employees
And don’t forget, we need your help.
