Starting next month, Volunteers of America Chesapeake’s Pratt House will undergo extensive renovations, thanks to $100,000 in support from the TD Bank Charitable Foundation.
TD Bank has awarded VOAC a Housing for Everyone Grant, which provides funding for affordable housing.
The Pratt House is a 35-unit housing complex that in 2002, VOAC transformed from a dilapidated Baltimore City School to an affordable housing community.
Thirty-five families and nearly 100 children live in Pratt House apartments.
Each family receives a case manager who can provide mental health counseling and referrals to services such as health care, substance abuse treatment, adult education, and job training.
With the new funding support, each unit will receive updates that may include new appliances, carpet, cabinets, and paint.
