Hey Chesapeake Family! Merry Christmas EVE!! Are you ready for tomorrow?? Today’s Wednesday’s Word comes from our Volunteer Coordinator Simon Lee:

I have been with Volunteers of America Chesapeake for a little of over two months now and many clients have been served and are continued to be served! Every opportunity, no matter how big or how small, to serve a client in need is an opportunity to provide quality service from Volunteers of America Chesapeake. When I think of “quality” at Volunteers of America Chesapeake, the first thing that comes to my mind is the type of work that we provide to our clients.

Just this past month, through cultivating a partnership with Lido Civic Club and H & C Heating and Cooling, Volunteers of America Chesapeake was able to provide an HVAC to a veteran, who has been without central heating for over three years. Volunteers of America Chesapeake made an intentional effort to provide the veteran and his family heating for the cold winter months. He stated to me that there is no better time because the HVAC installation was just a couple days before his wife’s birthday. So when he asked his wife what she wanted for her birthday, all she had to say was, “I just want to turn the heater on”.

Since “quality” is one of our core values at Volunteers of America Chesapeake. We continue to strive for excellence and leave no room for mediocrity. I would like to end with a quote from William A. Foster, “Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives”.
