2 Corinthians 9:11 (NIV) You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.
In addition to celebrating the life-saving work of our programs this year, we’d like to take this time to give thanks for our donors who help make our work possible. Donors like Joe and Nancy Gofus whose pledge of more than $37,000 over 5 years will help to fund winter shelter and hypothermia prevention programs throughout Northern Virginia.
“We’ve been members of the Volunteers of America Family for a number of years and we’ve had the opportunity to witness first-hand the impact that Caring, Respect, Faith, Quality and Trust have on the lives of our neighbors in need. We’re proud to support the efforts to end homelessness throughout our region and we know that working hand-in-hand with Volunteers of America is one of the best ways to do that” says Mrs. Gofus In addition to being a major donor, Mr. and Mrs. Gofus have been volunteers and partners for many years, serving on our National Board of Directors and supporting events including our Glen Campbell I’ll Be Me film premier. “I can’t thank Joe and Nancy enough for their support. It goes beyond just donating money, they have been actively involved in our efforts to end homelessness and expand our programs and services. They are truly representatives of our organization to their friends and colleagues and that creates new opportunities for us to engage additional funders and supporters,” says President & CEO Russ Snyder “they truly make a major difference in the lives of those we serve.” When you give a major gift to Volunteers of America Chesapeake you make a major difference in the lives of more than 6,000 individuals and families in our region. Families who would otherwise not be able to spend the holidays together, those who would have no other shelter or support and those in need of a helping hand to get back on their feet.
We truly appreciate the Gofus family and the opportunity to give thanks for their support.
