Motivation Monday!

Hey Chesapeake! It’s MONDAY morning! Are you ready for your Motivation?!

Today’s Motivation comes from our Volunteer Coordinator Simon Lee

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers [and sisters], whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me – practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.” – Phil 4:6-7

This scripture verse is held very dear to my heart because it has gotten me through some dark times in my life. We are so effected by the standards of this world that sometimes when we feel like we are going fall short, we bring unnecessary stress upon ourselves.

When this passage was presented to me, I literally felt as though the weight of the world was lifted off my shoulders. God, the creator of the planet in which we inhabit and the creator of mankind, tells me not be anxious. Who am I to be anxious about things that are man-made when I sometimes do not think to live my life for the God who made us. I trust in Him who provides me with everything that I need and not everything that I want. This is what motivates me to wake up every day with a smile and joy beyond understanding! Let us continue to praise God in the midst of trials and tribulations and wake up every day to spread God’s love unto others!
