“5 Weeks of Giving”
A Blessing
By Rev. Sandra Trice Gray, Chaplain
As we enter this season of giving it is important that we remain grounded in the faith that started our great organization. Please join us in a prayer for our organization, our clients and our mission.
May God’s blessings of hope, joy, love, and peace continuously flow through you this season, permeating your being. As they do, may you radiate them throughout these “5 Weeks of Giving,” saturating the environment as you serve.
May our Ministry of Service be enhanced as these same blessings cascade through our commissioned ministers as they serve; walk in God’s grace; and share their reflections on Volunteers of America’s 5 Core Values: Caring, Respect, Faith, Quality, and Trust during the next five weeks
May God bless you each day, as you take His Word to heart and give generously? May you feel His hand in everything you do?
May the givers and receivers be blessed by this “5 Weeks of Giving” for we know God’s response to generosity is to “…make all grace abound to the giver.”
May His grace be abundant and the richness of His love be shared through you; and in your hearts may He be praised.
May you experience a new level of blessings as your giving reveals a newer measure of your compassion and love?
May your light so shine before others that they may see God in you?
And, finally, may you be blessed by the recording of your name in the Book of Life as a response to your service, love, and generosity of spirit.
Luke 6:38
Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.
Acts 20:35 (#3 of 15 Bible Verses about Giving)
35 In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”
2 Corinthians 8:7 (#7 of 15 Bible Verses about Giving)
7 But just as you excel in everything-in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us-see that you also excel in this grace of giving.
As Paul conveyed: “giving is to be an individual matter that is settled in the privacy of one’s own heart.”
May the benefits of these 5 weeks of giving be for the recipient and the giver for God your response to generosity is to make all grace abound to the giver.
Amen.
Join us tomorrow, Monday December 2nd for our season’s first Motivation Monday reflection!
