Called to Care™

At the beginning of this month John Potvin, President of Equity Management in Baltimore, MD issued a challenge to business partners in the Baltimore area. With a goal of raising a minimum of $10,000.00 Mr. Potvin challenged the business community to donate to the renovations of our Pratt Street Playground saying “I’ll match your donation, dollar for dollar.”

His challenged was well received resulting in over $10,000.00 raised in the first 2 weeks, with donations still coming in! 

“Congratulations to Volunteers of America Chesapeake and the Pratt Street program. Along with our vendors and associates, we are proud to assist in raising funds to build the Pratt Street Apartments new playground for the children.  Together we raised over $10,000 to make this playground become a reality. When I toured the courtyard and realized there was a shortage of funding this much needed project, I was Called to Care for the dozens of children who call Pratt Street home. Now we can look forward to completion of the playground in time for Summer fun.” said Mr. Potvin in a phone interview with our Vice President of Development James Wynn.

“Equity is the firm that manages our Pratt property so to see a partner like that step up and answer the Call to Care is inspiring.” said Mr. Wynn.
