Pratt Street Demolition Day

The Pratt Street Transitional Housing Program (also known as “Pratt Street”) helps to provide safe and affordable housing along with a supportive residential environment for homeless families with 2 or more children.  Located in Baltimore, Maryland, this facility offers case management, mental health counseling and referrals to needed services such as health care, substance abuse treatment and adult education and job training.

On January 4th, to help bring in the New Year with a fresh start, members of the Operations Team of the Baltimore Convention Center teamed up with Volunteers of America Chesapeake to begin demolition of the playground and a “sprucing up” of the facility with a freshly painted hallway and training room.

Our build date is set for April 2013. With the help of our board members Dusky Holman of Smith, Gildea & Schmidt LLC, Donald Kann of Kann Partners and corporate partners like The Green Turtle, The United Way of Central Maryland and other individual donors; we are on our way to raising the necessary matching funds to complete this project. Community members have raised more than $4000 to support the playground build so far, You can help us answer the Call to Care by donating today.
