Volunteers of America Chesapeake provides safe, affordable homes to formerly homeless and low-income families through our Supportive Housing Programs. Residents in our programs qualify for Section 8 Rental Assistance and often find it difficult to find affordable housing that meets our standards of quality and service. We provide our residents with Case Management, Life Skills Training, Community Engagement Activities and Children’s Programming.

Our Supportive Housing Programs have no time limit but provide residents with tools and programming to improve their financial and educational situations at their own pace, allowing families to improve their quality of life. We provide summer camps for children and community outings including trips to Nationals Ballpark and FedEx Field.

We share best practices throughout our 31 programs as well as with our National office and our other affiliates.

The quality of our service is very important to our organization, we pride ourselves on our open door policy and our leadership has created a Mission Team to study ways to improve our service to clients, residents and staff.
