Motivation Monday – If you love what you do…

“If you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life.”

Tamyra is probably the shiest of our group, but when we asked her what quote motivates her, she was excited to share her story with us:

I don’t know where this quote originated but in my life it is absolutely true!  When I enrolled in college, my plan was to become a Psychologist.  I wanted to be a counselor or work in Forensics.  Because I did not fare well in the natural sciences, Forensics was out of the window so counseling it was!  While working my way through college, I worked for an organization that pushed me in a direction that has changed my life.

I began doing basic data entry, then was moved into the IT Department, this is when my love for technology developed.  The organization then created a intranet and needed someone to maintain it.  That person was me!  They sent me to an 8 hour training class and then handed the intranet over to me.

By the time I graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor’s in Psychology, my plans had changed.  I decided to enroll into a program for web design where I maintained a 4.0 GPA.

Over the years, my love for web design and everything that comes with it has grown.  I am very fortunate that I am able to come to work every day here at Volunteers of America Chesapeake, do what I love, while helping our mission to inspire self-reliance, dignity and hope through health and human services.

  1. Hey! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this website? I’m getting tired of WordPress because I’ve had issues with hackers and I’m looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be fantastic if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.

  2. It has generally been a positive thing for consumers
who live in a state where they’re still legal – but how about the requirements and demands of people who reside in a state where they aren’t legal.
For availing you need to fulfill some basic requirements such as you must be a permanent citizen of
UK. and having an active bank account for the last six months.
