Welcome to the 2nd week of giving! Today is Text Tuesday and we’re raising funds today for a new Playground!

Our Pratt Street Transitional Housing Program is home to more than 100 children, 60% of whom are elementary school aged or younger. The program provides housing and supportive services to 35 formerly homeless families. Our goal is to help these families regain their self sufficiency by preparing them to maintain housing. Case managers at Pratt House assist residents in life skills like utility management, financial literacy, resume writing and job coaching skills as well as spiritual development, parenting, nutrition and after school tutoring.

Located in Baltimore City, “Pratt House” as well call it, is in the heart of urban Baltimore. This restricts the play area for our children. As part of our mission to care for our families we are renovating the existing playground to provide a space for parents and children to enjoy an escape from city life.

We recently got together with the children at Pratt and held a design day! The children along with Jason Murphy of the Baltimore Ravens designed their dream playground and thanks to a grant from KaBoom! and Dr Pepper Snapple Corp we’r well on our way to making those dreams come true!
